WORLD GEOGRAPHY 8 SYLLABUS
World Geography is designed to help students understand how events or actions of people are influenced by physical and cultural geography. This class revolves around the study mastery and use of the Five Themes of Geography.
SCOPE AND SEQUENCE
The school year is divided into two semesters. The areas will study will be organized in the way;
SEMESTER 1 Introduction to Geography Western Hemisphere
SEMESTER 2 Eastern Hemisphere
GRADING
A- 90% B- 80% C- 70% D- 60%
The total score will be weighted in the following way. 33.3% Participation 33.3% Daily Work 33.3% Tests and Quizzes
Late Work Because written work is important and related to learning it is expected that all assignments will be completed and turned in on the assigned date. If a student has an excused they will have additional time equal to the length of the to complete the assignment. Tests and quizzes will be made up during advisory. If an assignment is turned in late it will be penalized 10% per day up to 50%.
