Uniform Policy
Battle Creek Middle School will be a safe and comfortable place to teach and learn.  Student conduct and clothing should project this positive atmosphere. Students are expected to comply with the established uniform dress code.

General Guidelines

1.    When purchasing uniforms, be sure that each item is free of any type of insignia, logo or patch.
2.    All shirts/blouses must have collars and buttons and be tucked in at all times (not rolled under).
3.    Clothing worn under the shirt must be plain, solid white (no colors, no designs, no logos, no lettering, etc.)  It may have a collar or be a turtleneck.  No outerwear may be worn over the top.
4.    Baggy pants, cargo pants, sweatpants, wind pants, jeans, stretch pants, large pockets, and pants that are cut, altered or rolled up will not be allowed. Rubber bands are not allowed around the pant legs.  No short shorts or short skirts. Administration will determine if it is appropriate.
5.    Navy blue or white leggings may be worn under shorts or skirts.  No other colors are allowed.
6.    A belt must be worn at all times.  The belt must be through the belt loops.
7.    No hats, headgear, or bandannas may be worn, except for religious reasons.
8.    Students must wear clothing that fits them appropriately (determined by administration).
Sweatshirts ($8) and polo shirts ($6) can be purchased in the office.
