Objective: Students will be able to determine the theoretical probability of an event. Vocabulary: equally likely, theoretical probability, fair, complement, odds Skills questions: How do you find the theoretical probability of an event? How do you find the probability of an event when given the complement? How do you convert between odds and probability? Homework: 10-5 Practice B worksheet
Tuesday 9/30 10-7 Independent and Dependent Events
We will first finish any work over 10-6.
Objective: Students will find the probability of independent events. Students will find the probability of dependent events. Vocabulary: independent event, dependent event, replacement Skills questions: How do you classify separate events as independent or dependent? How do you find the probability of independent events? Thursday 10/2 10-8 Combinations and Permutations Objective: Students will solve problems involving permutations. Students will solve problems involving combinations. Vocabulary: compound event, combination, permutation Skills questions: How do you use the fundamental counting principle in determining the number of outcomes? How do you determine if a situation is a combination or permutation? How do you calculate permutations? How do you calculate combinations? Homework: 10-8 Practice B worksheet
