Team Expectations
BE PUNCTUAL, BE PREPARED, BE POLITE
ADVISORY
Advisory will be our time to get to know each other, quietly listen to
announcements, take care of school business, and learn the advisory
curriculum. Your advisor is here to help you be a better learner
at Battle Creek.
ASSIGNMENTS
Late work will not be accepted in Team C English, Geography, Math or
Science. Work missing due to absences will be accepted late under
each teacher’s policy (see ATTENDANCE).
REQUIRED MATERIALS
See reverse for the required materials for each core class.
Uniforms are a school requirement so you must be compliant with the
uniform policy when you come to class. Your teachers will assign
textbooks and you must bring your OWN textbook to class. These
WILL NOT be allowed in class: purses, hats, jackets, CD players,
backpacks, hair products, cameras, food, candy, or toys.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance is mandatory. Much of the work we do is done in class,
so please do your best to be here every day. All work must be
completed regardless of whether your absence is excused or
unexcused. You must take responsibility for collecting and
completing all missed assignments.
TARDINESS
Please be punctual for all classes and assigned activities. If
you have a reason to be tardy, you must have a pass. Each
unexcused tardy will result in lunch detention. Multiple tardies
will result in further consequences. Being tardy as the result of
getting required classroom materials is never excused, and will result
in lunch detention.
PASSES
Students are allowed no more than one pass per week in Team C
classes. Passes for each period must be written in the student
planner under the column for that period. It is the teacher’s
prerogative to allow or not allow students to use a pass.
LUNCH
You must be in the cafeteria everyday on time. You are expected
to behave in an orderly and respectful manner. You are to be
seated at your assigned period 5 table at all times. You are to
dispose of your tray and your trash and clean your area when told to do
so. It is your responsibility to follow the directions of the
supervisors in the cafeteria. Should it become necessary, seating
in the cafeteria will be assigned by student.
LOCKERS
Each student is assigned a locker. Do not share a locker or the
combination of your locker. Mr. Martin (room 161) has the locker
key for the Team C hallway.
FIELD TRIPS
In order to participate in Team C field trips, students are expected to
follow BCMS behavior expectations and be making an observable effort in
all classes. Students will be given a behavior contract thirty
days before a field trip.
ASSEMBLIES
Students are expected to behave politely during all assemblies.
