Life Science Syllabus

In this course, we will be addressing the Mn State Standards in Science.  We will be learning about two major content areas:  Life Science and the History and Nature of Science. Here are some of the topics we cover:

History and Nature of Science
Scientific evidence and theories
Natural Phenomena
Scientific Inquiry:  Designing and conducting experiments
How science and technology influence our society
Scientists and scientific discoveries throughout history

Life Science
Cells:  types, processes, and functions
Living organisms and their diversity:  plants and animals
Ecosystems and interdependence of life
Heredity
Biological populations over time
Food chain and energy transfer
Human body systems and disease
