English Language Learners (ELL)
The BCMS ESL/ELL department teaches beginning, intermediate, and
advanced English language learning strategies to students from all over
the globe. Our goal is to teach our students the language skills
and strategies that will prepare them for high school as well as allow
them to perform on level with their native English speaking peers.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum visited our level 2 and 3 history classes to explain her role in the House of Representatives. The students found her interesting and very funny. She also brought each student a copy of the U.S. Constitution. Thank You Congresswoman!

Classroom Summary, Ms. Haupt's classes Level 3 ELL history -- This class focuses on American government and history. Students learn how the democratic process works, rights and responsibilities of Americans, and how our history has shaped the lives of citizens.
Read 180 - This program focuses on improving the reading skills of students. Students read required books, answer questions about the books, take computer tests, and improve spelling and grammar skills.
