General Music
Objectives: General music class will attempt to expose students to a variety of music related topics which can be used throughout life to enhance and strengthen the enjoyment and understanding of music as an art form. The class is divided to five units of study: Sources of Sound, Music Careers, Western Music History, World Music, and American Music. Throughout these units music theory, and beginning guitar instruction will be included. Principles of Learning included.



Grading: Points are given for all quizzes and tests. Total points are recorded and added together with the class final. Extra credit given with consent of teacher.

Classroom expectations:
1. Respect teacher and other students
2. No gum or food in classroom.
3. Be on time and on task
4. Punctual...Prepared...Polite
5. Enjoy music!
Continued disregard of these rules will result in a lowering of grade.
