Algebra 1 Success Commitments
ALGEBRA 1 SUCCESS COMMITMENTS

I will commit to always being present and on time for class, sitting either in my assigned seat or with my group when the bell rings.

I will commit to always being prepared for class by having a pencil, binder, and assignments on my person when class begins.

I will commit to always treating the other students in the classroom with respect.

I will commit to being responsible for my education, to not making excuses, and to accepting that my success or failure is in my control.

I will commit to a positive attitude.  Even when a problem seems impossible, I will believe that I can find the solution.

I will commit to my ability to think and "figure things out."

I will commit to asking questions when the directions are unclear or when I am having difficulty connecting the lessons to the assignments.

I will commit to participating in class, either during teacher-led instruction or in small group work.

I will commit to completing my assignments, both inside and outside of the classroom.

I will commit to showing all of my work, even the written descriptions of the math process.

I have read and agree with these commitments, because my success in algebra and in school is important to me, the family whom I live with now, and the family whom I might have some day.
